Data you provide
Vitalo stores account details, profile measurements and preferences you enter, meal records, weight history, recipes, photos, comments, and notification preferences. Optional allergy and medical-condition fields are stored if you fill them in.
Setup choices and agreement
Vitalo stores your selected goal weight, requested weekly loss pace, preferred measurement units, and reminder, step-tracking, email, and Vibe notification preferences. It records the terms and privacy policy versions you accept and the server time of acceptance. A checked step-tracking or notification preference is not device permission and does not by itself activate phone sensors, email delivery, or push notifications. You can change optional preferences in Profile.
Where your data is stored
Account and health records are stored on the Vitalo backend, not only on your phone. This installation stores a session token and local preferences. Guest access depends on that installation; uninstalling the app does not automatically delete backend records.
AI processing
When you request meal analysis or a recipe suggestion, the image or food description is sent through the Vitalo backend to an AI provider, currently OpenAI. Images are resized before sending. The backend records provider token usage for operation and cost tracking. Provider processing is subject to its own data policies.
Private and public content
Meal photos, food diaries, weight records, and private recipes are restricted to their owner by the API. Public recipes, comments, and limited creator information are visible to other users. Profile photos are public to anyone with their link. Email addresses and health measurements are not included in public creator profiles.
Drafts and retention
AI meal drafts expire after one hour. Cancelling a draft removes its temporary photo; expired drafts are removed when cleanup runs. Saved records and AI usage records remain on the backend. A final retention and backup-deletion schedule has not yet been published.
Support drafts on this device
Support drafts are saved locally for the current account and are not sent to Vitalo. They can be edited or removed in Support. Opening a prepared email does not send it automatically; your email provider handles it only if you choose to send it.
Account connection and permissions
Email verification or Google sign-in can link a guest account. Camera or photo-library access is requested when you choose a photo feature. Choosing not to use AI analysis avoids sending that meal input to the AI provider.
Your controls and privacy requests
You can edit or delete meals and recipes, correct weight records, and change account settings. Self-service account deletion and data export are not yet implemented. Contact support@vitalo.app for privacy questions; a finalized request-handling process is still required before release.
Before public release
The operator identity, hosting location, retention periods, and applicable privacy rights must be finalized and reviewed before public release. This draft does not claim regulatory certification or clinical approval.
Operator details have not yet been published.
